Poem: Sunrise in the Rear View Mirror

Driving down
a country road
with the sunrise
in the rear view
mirror.
Saturated
yellow orb
burns
with intensity.
Wind break
trees,
spanning
the generations,
weathered,
yet triumphant,
stand resolute
as scepters.
Early morning
fog
hovers over
the tree lined
river
and above
the glistening
dew
blanketed
fields.
A dream
state -
Lavender
and salmon
hues
fill
the sky.

Poem: Golden Locks

Golden locks -
spun from gold;
"soft as silk."
Twinkling
eyes,
like the stars
that light
the midnight
sky -
breathtaking;
Their kindness
of infinite
expanse.
Her laughter
echoes
the giggles
of children;
Illuminating
all
around her.

Poem: Family Bonds

Wasting
valuable
and finite time,
arguing it away,
is no way
to spend today.
No one knows
what tomorrow brings -
Yet grudges
and feuds
have no place.
Leave the past
in the past -
Where it belongs.
Siblings,
drive you
crazy;
Parents,
don't understand -
Yet they do.
Bound together,
through
the better
and worse
of one another.
Selfless
and long suffering
bonds -
Seal
family together.
