Poem: Sunrise in the Rear View Mirror

Driving down
a country road
with the sunrise
in the rear view
mirror.
Saturated
yellow orb
burns
with intensity.
Wind break
trees,
spanning
the generations,
weathered,
yet triumphant,
stand resolute
as scepters.
Early morning
fog
hovers over
the tree lined
river
and above
the glistening
dew
blanketed
fields.
A dream
state -
Lavender
and salmon
hues
fill
the sky.
