Poem: Yet I do

I don't really
know you,
how could I possibly
judge you?
Yet  I do.
What I see,
my biased eyes,
deceiving me -
What I've seen
you do,
at first glance,
perceived
through
subjective vision.
What I've heard
about you,
From those
"in the know" -
Crass gossip
and mindless blather.
Nothing more
than rumor
and innuendo.
I shouldn't listen.
Yet I do.
What I've heard
you say,
I've taken out of
context,
to support
my final
and absolute
condemnation.
Words of truth
and sincerity -
An appeal
for empathy
met with
apathy.
It would be
understandable
if you
judged me.
Yet you don't.
