Poem: Eaton Grove

Eaton Grove:
Grand Victorian
Lady -
Frilly lace
of molding
and stonework.
Little red wagons;
Crazy
"Hippie Chickens" -
Peacock feathers
plume out
in majestic
brilliance.
Unbridled
and free
spirited
call.
Greenhouses
bursting
in vibrant color -
Bleeding hearts,
clematis,
calibrachoa
and snapdragon.
Lantana,
cuphea,
dahlia
and viola.
Bulbs of
gladiolas
and lillies.
Butterscotch
and cream
host -
Soothing
and mesmerizing
purr,
nestled
lazily
around the neck.
