Poem: Hello Baby!

A "Man about town",
dressed "to the nines",
on the ballroom
dance floor:
Hello Baby!
Nice to know ya!
Merry Christmas!
Happy
Fourth of July!
May I
have this dance?
A whispering Waltz,
accompanied
by the swirling
dreamlike resonance -
The lullaby
strain
of a violin bow;
Taking off -
High Flyin':
Fueled by
the Charleston
and the Lindy.
Swing,
'til we're
out of gas,
running on fumes.
We'll really fly.
Top the evening,
with a velvet bow:
Sharing a kiss
in the crisp,
moonlit
midnight air.
